What a great showcase! Found these while browsing the site (my son is beside himself with excitement as he's been offered a place on the commercial music course in September and I too am sharing his excitement!) . The quality of some of these is exceptional. I particularly rate "Drunkards Ball" - the musicianship and performances are terrific and the songwriting very musical and original - the twist of the genre (where in folk/blues the singer doesn't need to match the gender of the protagonist) with the front man sporting a frock is very amusing and quirky, and the final denoument both moving, shocking, and humourous (presumably never loving another man cos he/she's hung for murder/locked up and whether he/she's learned the lesson this time is a bit academic!). Great voice too on 'murder by moonlight' (bit of a theme here??!! - same chap minus frock I think?) Apart from murder theme, provides great contrast in style. Love lots of the other vids too - the Kid Charlemaine piece is great fun and v musical, catchy, and imaginative; and in contrast, the simple approach of the Soul duo (Can't Let You go) is lovely. Thanks for putting them here and brightening my lunch break, and giving me confidence that my son is coming to a great place to develop creative skills.
